- Act as a trusted liaison between Product Owners, business stakeholders, subject‑matter experts, and delivery teams.
- Develop a deep understanding of end‑to‑end business processes, customer journeys, and operational workflows.
- Facilitate productive conversations that surface real needs, constraints, risks, and tradeoffs.
- Proactively identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement within business processes and systems.
- Elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements using appropriate techniques (workshops, interviews, process mapping, observation, etc.).
- Translate business needs into clear, well‑structured user stories with acceptance criteria that teams can confidently build and test against.
- Document business rules, configuration needs, data mappings, configuration/reference data, and UI behaviors as needed.
- Maintain and evolve artifacts such as process flows, use cases, data flows, and product models.
- Assess the business impact of proposed changes and help stakeholders understand implications and dependencies.
- Partner with Product Owner(s) to break down features into value-focused deliverables (MVPs) and define incremental delivery.
- Partner closely with developers, testers, and configuration teams to ensure solutions align with intended business outcomes.
- Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, and ongoing delivery activities by clarifying intent and answering questions.
- Validate implemented solutions against requirements and support user acceptance activities.
- Manage and prioritize assigned work to meet delivery commitments and deadlines.
- Look beyond individual stories to identify patterns, root causes, systemic issues, and improvement opportunities.
- Help improve how requirements are gathered, documented, and communicated across teams.
- Contribute to consistent analysis practices, templates, and standards across IT.
Requirements
- Strong analytical thinking with the ability to break down complex problems into clear, actionable components.
- Proven experience eliciting and documenting business and functional requirements in a technology environment.
- Ability to facilitate discussions and workshops with diverse stakeholders, including non‑technical audiences.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within cross‑functional teams while managing work independently.
- Comfort working in an Agile or hybrid delivery environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, or a related field.
- Experience in the insurance industry.
- Experience working with Guidewire products or similar enterprise platforms.
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar.
- Experience documenting data flows, integrations, and configuration‑heavy systems.
- Guidewire or relevant vendor certifications (or willingness to obtain).
