About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Define and execute global sourcing strategies for third-party active ingredients supporting FMC’s mixtures, private label offerings, buy/sell products, and technical partnerships
- Reset key third-party active partnerships, including sourcing model redesign, make-versus-buy-versus-partner evaluation, and agreement alignment with market benchmarks
- Develop category strategies for third-party actives aligned with FMC portfolio priorities and market positioning
- Define sourcing strategies for new product introductions, portfolio cost improvement, strategic partnerships, and alliances
- Partner with Commercial teams to optimize regional product offerings, buy/sell models, and portfolio rationalization
- Lead should-cost modeling and total cost of ownership analysis
- Drive multi-year cost reduction roadmaps and structure agreements for cost flexibility and downside protection
- Develop and manage supplier partnerships and supplier performance across cost, quality, reliability, and innovation
- Mitigate single-source risks and build dual-sourcing and contingency strategies
- Manage regulatory and freedom-to-operate risks
- Partner with Technical and Manufacturing teams on cost structures, capacity plans, and portfolio needs
- Build market intelligence on the global supply base, cost benchmarks, process advantages, and competitor positioning
- Translate market insights into negotiation and sourcing strategies
- Lead a global team and report to the Chief Procurement Officer
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree is required
- Minimum of 10 years of business experience in a regulated environment within procurement, business development, marketing, and/or regulatory roles
- Experience in the Crop Protection or Agricultural Products industry highly preferred
- Proven track record negotiating large, complex supply agreements
- Demonstrated ability to define and execute effective procurement strategies
- Proven skillset working with business development and commercial functions
- Demonstrated experience working with other crop protection companies
- Knowledge of potential data requirements and license/royalty aspects of third-party actives and incorporating them into supply contracts
- Understanding of general accounting and legal concepts related to procurement, including contingent liability, contract enforceability, legal consideration, and Most Favored Nations pricing
- Capability to organize teams and initiate projects using project management skills
- Strategic sourcing proficiency and ability to lead and drive category strategies using a clear methodology
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to influence and convince others without authority
- Knowledge or experience in other Procurement categories preferred
- Exposure to organizational transformation efforts preferred
- International experience and multicultural work environment preferred
