About the role
- Partner with a member of the Group Functions Leadership Team.
- Act as the initial Finance contact for that LT member and their team, reporting on and providing insight into the current & future drivers of cost.
- Collaborate closely with them on all central initiatives within their area.
- Gain a deep understanding of the function's structure, activities, and cost breakdowns to provide valuable insights to collaborators and contribute to decision making.
- Provide informative and forward-looking performance reporting packs that identify risks & opportunities to budget targets through proactive analysis.
- Be directly responsible for the forecasting and cost adherence of the Group Functions element of the LT's cost base.
- Nurture close working relationships with Divisional finance colleagues in order to provide a Group-wide view of the LT members remit as necessary.
- Foster cost control throughout the field of LT expenses, and offer commercial scrutiny to subject areas developed by the LT.
- Review and approve LT budgets, including headcount and non-headcount expenses, while providing visibility through insightful reporting and commentary for better spend control.
- Coordinate the month-end close process for your function by being the link between the financial reporting team and the business owners.
- You will review all significant variances for area, analyzing key variances in advance of close.
- Continuously find opportunities to improve key controls and streamline processes, automating and innovating where possible.
Requirements
- Either has previous experience as a Finance Business Partner or has Managerial finance experience.
- Has a strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, and strategic financial planning.
- Takes pride and shows passion in all deliverables assigned.
- Possesses outstanding written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Specifically, the ability to produce performance slides that effectively convey information and engage with senior partners.
- Has a commercial attitude and is adaptable to a global fast-paced environment.
- Is able to achieve goals and remain resilient in a global organization, even in challenging situations.
- Demonstrates a desire to contribute in all areas of financial performance and planning.
- Possesses excellent analytical and review skills, showing the ability to interpret complex financial data for strategic decision-making.
- Has excellent organizational skills and takes full ownership of tasks assigned while delivering to tight deadlines.
- Is logical and methodical and with ability and willingness to learn and progress.
- Continuously seeks to improve processes and procedures for efficiency and accuracy.
- Experience in a US GAAP reporting environment.
- Experience working with platforms such as Oracle, Hyperion, Workday, PowerBI, and other BI tools.
- Qualified accountant with Experience working in Audit / Corporate Finance / Transactional Advisory.
