About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, and maintain software tools to improve BESS fleet monitoring, troubleshooting efficiency, and operational reliability
  • Develop applications, automation scripts, diagnostic tools, and proactive monitoring solutions
  • Create and maintain Grafana dashboards, visualizations, and alerting frameworks
  • Develop monitoring and diagnostic tools for DAS, OS7, Linux servers, network infrastructure, and edge computing systems
  • Build automation to reduce manual troubleshooting and identify hardware failures, software issues, communication faults, and network disruptions
  • Collect, process, analyze, and present operational data from fleet systems and monitoring platforms
  • Support root cause analysis through automated diagnostic workflows and troubleshooting utilities
  • Collaborate with engineering, deployment, network, controls, product, and field service teams
  • Maintain software, architecture, deployment, and operational documentation
  • Assist with customer escalations and serve as the primary technical resource for complex hardware issues
  • Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and hardware documentation
  • Support hardware upgrades, technical investigations, warranty claims, spare parts planning, and lifecycle management
  • Analyze fleet failure trends and drive corrective and preventive actions
  • Participate in RCA, lessons learned, factory acceptance testing, commissioning, and post-deployment investigations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, automation, systems engineering, observability platforms, or operational technology environments
  • Proficiency in Python development, including scripting, automation, data processing, and application development
  • Hands-on experience administering and troubleshooting Linux and Ubuntu operating systems
  • Experience developing monitoring, troubleshooting, diagnostic, or observability tools in production environments
  • Experience with Grafana dashboard creation, data visualization, and alert management
  • Experience with REST APIs, data integrations, and automation frameworks
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, communication protocols, and system diagnostics
  • Experience with Git and software development lifecycle best practices
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and cross-functional collaboration ability
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
  • Preferred: experience with utility-scale BESS, OS7, DAS, industrial networking, SCADA, PLC communications, OT, Modbus, telemetry, edge computing, customer-facing critical infrastructure, Docker, virtualization, cloud monitoring, SQL, time-series databases, cybersecurity, and multi-regional operations
