About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the operational implementation of Fluence's Health & Safety strategy throughout the UK and Ireland
  • Provide expert health and safety advice and operational support to project teams, managers, and senior leadership
  • Foster a proactive and positive safety culture through visible leadership, coaching, and engagement
  • Ensure compliance with relevant UK and Irish health and safety legislation, company standards, and client requirements
  • Support projects throughout development, engineering, construction, commissioning, operations and service
  • Review and guide risk assessments, method statements, safe systems of work and operational risk controls
  • Undertake site inspections, Health & Safety audits, contractor assessments and assurance activities to verify compliance and identify opportunities for continual improvement
  • Lead or support incident investigations, identifying root causes and ensuring effective corrective and preventive actions are implemented
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, regulatory authorities and other external stakeholders

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Level 6 qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or an equivalent recognised qualification
  • Chartered Membership of IOSH, or actively working towards Chartered status
  • Significant operational Health & Safety experience within construction, infrastructure, utilities, renewable energy, electrical engineering or other high-risk industries
  • Strong working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation, together with a good understanding of Irish Health & Safety requirements
  • Experience supporting construction, commissioning and operational activities
  • Experience in undertaking Health & Safety audits, inspections, compliance reviews and incident investigations
  • Experience supporting contractor management and working within multi-disciplinary project teams
  • Full UK/Irish driving licence and willingness to travel where required
