About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform all aspects of service operations, maintenance, and support for Battery Energy Storage Systems
  • Assist the RM with site reports and onsite LOTO
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on various BESS equipment and related assets
  • Aid in inspection, testing, and repair of utility-scale power and controls equipment
  • Support the RM in managing multiple 3rd party service vendors in the safe execution of O&M services across contracted BESS projects
  • Meet timelines and schedules, scopes of work, quality assurances and inspections, successful troubleshooting and repairs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • HS Degree and 4 plus years’ experience working in the electrical or renewable energy industries within generation / operations / technical teams (solar/wind/BESS/gas/hydro/distribution)
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills related to electrical troubleshooting
  • Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings
  • Ability to follow company QC and testing procedures
  • High level of attention to detail and focus on proper documentation
  • Bidirectional inverters, 1500VDC and 630 VAC systems, extra for substations
  • Using electrical testing equipment, including meggers and multi-meters
  • Managed Ethernet Switches, Media Converters (Fiber & Serial)
  • HVAC & Chiller systems operations & maintenance
  • Using Torque tools and Thermal Imaging tools to maintain/verify proper electrical connections
  • Ability to adapt and work in extreme hot and cold environments
  • Must have a current driver’s license with a good DMV record
  • Either currently hold, or able to immediately obtain certifications for OSHA 10, NFPA 70E, and CPR
