About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for categories such as castings, forgings, fabricated components, hydraulics, gearboxes, and motors
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans at the product level taking category strategies into account
- Identify cost-saving opportunities within assigned categories and products, and drive prioritized savings initiatives
- Conduct spend analysis, benchmarking, should-cost modeling, and supplier consolidation to identify and realize cost-reduction opportunities
- Source, evaluate, qualify, and onboard global suppliers based on cost, quality, risk, and performance criteria
- Define and maintain strategic supplier segmentation using category, product, and risk analysis to identify critical suppliers, single-source exposure, and risk-critical components
- Lead supplier negotiations, including long-term agreements, pricing models, index-based pricing, and volume commitments
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Product Line Management, Engineering, Quality, and Operations) to align sourcing decisions with business and technical requirements
- Proactively engage suppliers and lead value engineering workshops in collaboration with engineering teams to drive cost optimization, design improvements, and manufacturability enhancements
- Manage supplier relationships and monitor performance using defined KPIs
- Track market trends and commodity price movements to support informed sourcing decisions
- Support new product introductions (NPI) by aligning sourcing strategies with engineering and internal manufacturing units
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks related to geopolitical factors, commodity price volatility, and logistics constraints
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably within mineral processing equipment or industrial technology
- Strong analytical skills with experience in spend analysis, cost modeling, and data-driven decision-making
- Ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working in a global, matrixed organization
- Experience sourcing horizontal mill components (preferred)
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as casting, machining, fabrication, and assembly (preferred)
- Knowledge of sustainability practices, supplier ESG requirements, and responsible sourcing (preferred)
- Professional certifications such as CPSM or CSCP (preferred)
