About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create and execute strategic recruitment plans for assigned studies and locations
- Achieve study enrollment goals and revenue targets
- Guide multi-channel recruitment strategies, including community partnerships, physician referrals, and patient databases
- Ensure an exceptional patient experience from initial contact through screening and enrollment
- Build relationships with community organizations, patient advocacy groups, and healthcare providers
- Oversee diversity and inclusion initiatives for representative clinical-trial populations
- Monitor individual and team performance indicators and address underperformance
- Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and results
- Prioritize studies and route patients to optimize revenue and enrollment commitments
- Lead and manage patient recruiting call center and related teams
- Manage prescreen programs, prioritization, routing, strategy, and database growth
- Implement coaching, training, and development initiatives
- Identify process and system improvements with corporate and site support teams
- Participate in sponsor relations and communications
- Manage site-level vendor relationships and sponsor-funded recruitment campaigns
- Ensure accurate documentation in CRM and CTMS systems
- Ensure enrollment teams follow legal, ethical, and professional standards
- Perform additional duties assigned by management
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven success leading high-performing teams meeting or exceeding enrollment and revenue goals
- 3+ years managing a patient enrollment team of 5+ representatives
- Call center leadership supporting multi-therapeutic studies preferred
- 2–3 additional years as a patient enrollment representative preferred
- Bachelor’s degree required; business degree preferred
- Healthcare sales and call center management training preferred
- Strong knowledge of clinical trial enrollment processes, protocols, and regulations
- Proven leadership of geographically dispersed teams
- Highly data-driven, able to identify trends and take fast, measurable action
- Ability to build a culture of accountability, performance, and results
- Advanced coaching skills, including emotional intelligence and persona-based messaging
- Experience managing and improving KPIs at individual and team levels
- Ability to create and execute study-specific recruiting strategies
- Expertise in delivering an exceptional, inclusive patient experience
- Proficiency with call center systems, phone platforms, and CRMs
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
- Adaptable, solutions-oriented, and effective in dynamic environments
- Relevant therapeutic area experience is a plus
