About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform routine and non-routine pharmacy technician functions and activities
- Multitask across multiple software programs and applications
- Handle multiple telecommunication lines
- Maintain accurate, professional documentation
- Communicate with internal and external parties and maintain open communication with the supervisor or manager
- Work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist; no patient counseling
- Enter and verify pharmacy insurance data and insurance benefits
- Provide service to patients, staff, insurance representatives, pharmaceutical representatives, vendors, and employees
- Serve as the first line of communication for inbound and outbound calls, emails, and internal pharmacy communications
- Coordinate with pharmacy teams to expedite services
- Document and encourage therapy adherence under licensed pharmacist supervision
- Maintain medication information, investigate prescription barriers, report order updates, and schedule delivery or pickup
- Process prescriptions for eligible patients and bill benefit plans
- Resolve insurance billing issues and communicate potential delays
- Support the Revenue Manager’s day-to-day financial operations and participate in audits
- Dispense oral oncology medications under the Dispensing Operations Pharmacist’s supervision
- Accurately count and fill prescriptions; order and stock medications; package and ship oral oncology medications
Requirements
What you’ll need- Florida resident candidates required
- Active Registered Pharmacy Technician license in state of residence required (FL RPT)
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education required
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Registered Pharmacy Technician in specialty, retail, mail order, or hospital pharmacy required
- Ability to multitask between multiple software programs and applications
- Ability to handle multiple telecommunication lines
- Proficiency in Microsoft programs
- Ability to effectively use, pronounce, and spell common medical and pharmacy terms
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with sensitive and confidential material and emotionally charged matters
- Strong customer focus
- Ability to work remotely effectively as required
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment and juggle competing priorities
- Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook preferred
- Active National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB) preferred
- Successful completion of background, drug, and nicotine screenings
- New hires must receive required vaccinations, including influenza vaccine, barring an approved exemption
- Medical Marijuana cards are not recognized
