About the role
- Responsible for performing routine and non-routine pharmacy technician functions and activities related to the position.
- Must be able to multi-task between multiple software programs and/or applications, handle multiple telecommunication lines, and work efficiently in all Microsoft programs.
- Exercise excellent communication skills to successfully interact with all levels of internal and external parties.
- Intake Team: Responsible for pharmacy insurance data entry and verification of insurance benefits.
- Provides exceptional service to patients, staff, insurance representatives, pharmaceutical representatives, vendors and fellow employees.
- Interacts in a professional manner with all contacts in order to promote effective exchanges of information.
- Adherence Team: Responsible for documenting and encouraging therapy adherence under the supervision of licensed pharmacists.
- Revenue Team: Responsible for ensuring that prescriptions are processed for eligible patients and properly billed to their benefit plan.
- Dispensing & Distribution Team: Responsible for the dispensing of oral oncology medications under the supervision of the Dispensing Operations Pharmacist.
Requirements
- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent education is required.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Registered Pharmacy Technician in specialty, retail, mail order, or hospital pharmacy is required.
- Critical thinking skills including solid problem solving, analysis, decision-making, planning, time management and organizational skills.
- Developed interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, diplomacy, tact, conflict management, delegation skills, and diversity awareness.
- Effective communication skills (oral, written, presentation), is an active listener, and effectively provides balanced feedback.
- Strong customer focus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is preferred.
- Active Registered Pharmacy Technician license in state of residence is required.
