About the role
- Develop, implement, and continuously enhance the company’s enterprise-wide compliance program.
- Draft, maintain, and improve compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Establish governance frameworks to ensure consistent compliance across products, operations, and jurisdictions.
- Monitor, interpret, and proactively translate federal and state laws and regulations impacting all Fliff verticals.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulators and gaming authorities.
- Manage regulatory filings, licensing, audits, and investigations.
- Proactively assess regulatory changes and advise leadership on business impact and risk.
- Oversee and continuously improve AML, fraud prevention, and Know Your Customer (KYC) programs.
- Ensure compliance with applicable AML laws, sanctions requirements, and reporting obligations.
- Partner with internal teams to investigate suspicious activity and manage escalations.
- Oversee privacy compliance, including data protection, security practices, and user consent frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with consumer protection laws, advertising standards, and related requirements.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to embed compliance-by-design principles.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance and regulatory risks across the organization.
- Develop risk assessment methodologies and reporting for executive leadership.
- Lead internal compliance reviews and support external audits.
- Support contracting efforts related to compliance, regulatory obligations, and risk allocation.
- Partner closely with Legal, Product, Operations, Payments, Marketing, and Finance teams.
- Provide compliance training and guidance to employees and leadership.
Requirements
- Experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory roles, preferably within gaming, fantasy sports, sports wagering, fintech, or other highly regulated digital industries.
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law in a United States jurisdiction.
- Proficiency in building and managing compliance programs in highly regulated industries.
- Excellent judgment, analytical and communication skills, and attention to detail, with a passion for the gaming industry and building and managing top-level compliance programs.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving regulatory environment.
