About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Work opportunities involving Hybrid/Cloud and Managed Services and Large Retail Colocation
Pursue new-logo CMS deals by providing pre-sales technical expertise to the National Sales Team
Interact directly with prospects through calls and in-person meetings
Architect Cloud and Managed Services solutions, potentially including hybrid colocation, during qualified sales calls and customer meetings
Analyze customer requirements and design customized solutions based on functionality and performance
Provide technical drawings, CMS solution designs, and business-impact narratives to national sales teams
Maintain current knowledge of product offerings, industry trends, and technologies
Create complete and accurate documentation for Implementation after successful opportunity closure
Design and formally present complex CMS/Hybrid solutions to potential customers
Ask open-ended questions to uncover business drivers and required data
Create quotes and present solutions based on Flexential’s benefits and capabilities
Provide regional data center tours when necessary
Transfer information to post-sale resources
Provide ad hoc implementation support
Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related industry or equivalent preferred
Minimum of 8–15 years of experience in industry-relevant sales, consulting and/or sales engineering
Demonstrated ability to design and explain solutions to business and technical audiences
Technical, team-oriented, and documented success in the managed IT services field
Ability to understand complex technical issues and translate them into non-technical solutions
Understanding of multi-tier, highly available cloud-based web applications and architecture methodologies
Strong working knowledge of data center infrastructure components
Strong working knowledge of cloud platforms and hypervisor technologies, including VMware, AWS, Hyper-V, Azure, and Google Compute Platform
Strong working knowledge of x86 enterprise server hardware and operating systems, including Windows and Linux
Working knowledge of MySQL, MS-SQL, and Oracle database environments, including high-availability deployments
Knowledge of SANs and storage design for performance and size requirements
Knowledge of firewalls, load balancers, and switches
Working knowledge of data center and IT security best practices
Understanding of disaster recovery best practices
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to work in an office environment and remotely with sufficient workspace, cell connectivity, and adequate Internet
Ability to use a computer keyboard and mouse for extended periods
After-hours networking and customer interaction required
Travel 10% of the time
Must possess a valid driver’s license and insurance
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and reside in an eligible state throughout employment
