About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Draft and revise pleadings, motions, briefs, and memoranda in Chapter 11 and other insolvency-related proceedings
Research and analyze complex issues under the US Bankruptcy Code and related federal and state statutes, translating analysis into strategic recommendations
Develop and analyze plans of reorganization, including disclosure statements, supporting evidence, and confirmation hearings
Negotiate automatic stay issues, use of cash collateral, debtor-in-possession financing, and adequate protection with opposing counsel and stakeholders
Manage claims objection and estimation processes, including drafting and arguing objections and responses
Coordinate cross-border insolvency and Chapter 15 workstreams with overseas counsel
Draft and negotiate restructuring support agreements, forbearance agreements, and other key case documents
Assist with document review, chronologies, case narratives, depositions, mediations, and hearings
Analyze financial and business information, including business plans, financial statements, and valuation materials, with financial advisors and experts
Monitor and communicate developments in bankruptcy and insolvency law and assess their impact on matters and clients
Serve as a primary contact for day-to-day client communications, including substantive updates, research summaries, and case status reports
Develop internal knowledge materials and mentor junior associates

Requirements

What you’ll need

Juris Doctor (JD) degree (LLM or foreign equivalent) from an accredited law school required
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a large firm setting
Outstanding communication skills
Strong time management skills and ability to stay calm under pressure when juggling multiple projects
