About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Turn fleet data into clear, defensible guidance that helps fleet managers and leaders make high-level decisions
- Deliver high-quality reports, dashboards, agentic workflows, and data insights that are accurate and performant
- Work closely with the Data Team to surface data and insights via analytics and AI-powered products
- Design and engineer the future of Fleetio’s data products
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to deliver high-quality software
- Participate in collaborative feature design and architecture
- Plan, design, and implement solutions for Reporting, Advanced Analytics, and agentic modules
- Produce well-tested, maintainable, and performant code
- Research and implement prototypes and spikes to validate assumptions and technical feasibility
- Contribute opinions to development and planning processes
- Review peer code to ensure quality, consistency, and knowledge sharing
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong proficiency in full-stack development and working with large data sets
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions
- Proficiency with databases, particularly Postgres and Snowflake
- Experience using data to build quality insights and analytics solutions
- Experience across analytics tools such as ThoughtSpot, Tableau, or Sigma (bonus)
- Experience with dbt (bonus)
- Experience integrating third-party tools and APIs with emphasis on abstraction, maintainability, and seamless user experience
- Product-minded, team-oriented approach and excellent written communication skills
- 5+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails
- 3+ years of experience with ReactJS and TypeScript
- Experience crafting reports, analytics, and metrics solutions
- Experience writing and optimizing complex queries using SQL, CTEs, and ActiveRecord/Arel
- Firm understanding of object-oriented programming and relational databases such as PostgreSQL
- Strong expertise in data modeling and query-performance optimization
- Strong experience solving challenging architecture problems
- Experience with unit testing frameworks
- Must mention “coffee” in the application
- Experience leading small teams/projects (plus)
- Experience leading analytics infrastructure vision (plus)
- Fleet management industry knowledge (plus)
