About the role

  • Design, build, and optimise interactive dashboards and visualisations, ensuring accuracy, performance, and a strong user experience.
  • Clean, validate, and restructure existing data sources and tables for reliable reporting, using Power Query or other appropriate transformation methods.
  • Connect Power BI to SQL, APIs, and gateways, ensuring secure, efficient data pipelines.
  • Gather requirements, prototype layouts, and refine reports through feedback and workshops.
  • Maintain data security and compliance, stay current with Power BI updates, and improve existing reports.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Microsoft certifications are a plus.
  • 5+ years’ experience in Power BI development, with advanced proficiency in DAX, SQL, and data modelling, including performance optimisation.
  • Proven ability to create reports for all business levels, including executive and board level.
  • Experience integrating Power BI with enterprise and cloud data sources via APIs, gateways, and direct connections.
  • Strong understanding of data pipelines, dataflows, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Solid grasp of data visualisation and UI/UX design principles, with familiarity in tools such as Figma or Balsamiq.
  • Knowledge of AI and machine learning concepts to enhance reporting and analysis.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with experience in stakeholder engagement, requirements gathering, and Agile collaboration.
