About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide non-personal, administrative, and technical support to the Aerospace and Operational Medicine Division at HQ AFRC
- Maintain, review, and accurately enter aeromedical records for approximately 70,000 reservists
- Receive, track, and review medical data for completeness for government medical provider adjudication
- Complete technician-level inputs for front-end and back-end management of medical cases
- Update and maintain AIMWTS, ECT, PEPP, MEDXS, and ASIMS systems
- Apply ICD-10 coding and medical terminology to document case files
- Monitor cases through the review process and inform Reserve Medical Units of status changes
- Provide written instructions for managing incomplete files
- Collect and compile data for final case disposition and execute mail-out actions
- Prepare recurring reports on processing metrics and data quality
- Produce databases, spreadsheets, and graphics for division meetings and training
- Perform office-based administrative activities, including answering telephones and greeting visitors
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in health information management, health sciences, medical administration, healthcare administration, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience processing and managing physical exams and medical standards, preferably in a military medical environment or equivalent civilian occupational health setting
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disorders of body systems
- High proficiency with PDF software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Proficient typing skills using QWERTY and 9-key pads for high-volume data entry
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must possess or obtain an active favorable Tier 1 (T1) – NACI security clearance
- Mandatory completion of DoD Cyber Awareness, HIPAA, and Privacy Act training
- Must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement due to access to sensitive medical data
- Must display identification badges and name plaques at all times in Government workspaces
- Must be available during core hours of 0900 to 1500 EST, Monday through Friday
