About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct market research and analysis to assist Special Assets Officers and Team Leads in remediating classified commercial real estate and multifamily loans
- Re-underwrite actionable credits, focusing on borrower liquidity, cash flow sustainability, underperformance drivers, corrective actions, and recovery prospects
- Develop, maintain, and update financial models and analyses for restructuring, loan modification, and other recovery alternatives
- Support the development, execution, and monitoring of workout strategies
- Act as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders when needed
- Prepare detailed credit approval memos covering financial analysis, relationship overview, cash flow analysis, collateral assessments, and risk evaluations
- Review internal loan bookings and collateral positions
- Maintain team files and records
- Interact with borrowers, advisors, and internal and outside counsel
- Perform special projects and additional duties as required
- Complete required compliance training and maintain compliance with applicable policies, standards, and laws
Requirements
What you’ll need- Undergraduate degree (4 years or equivalent) in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience within the Loan Workout/Special Assets field, preferably at an OCC-regulated institution
- Familiarity with various loan databases preferred
- Excellent knowledge of and ability to interpret loan documentation
- Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Detail-oriented with ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment
- Strong financial analysis skills
- Ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
- Ability to comply with regulatory, compliance, federal, state, and local requirements
