About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead credit approval for equipment finance transactions, including financial analysis, collateral evaluation, and credit structuring
  • Assess credit risk for new and existing equipment finance customers
  • Develop and maintain Equipment Finance credit policies and procedures
  • Monitor portfolio performance and identify problem credits
  • Serve as credit authority for equipment finance deals within assigned limits
  • Conduct borrower cash flow, industry trend, and equipment value analyses
  • Collaborate with business development and sales teams on pricing, structure, and transaction terms
  • Present credit analyses, portfolio metrics, and risk assessments to senior management and regulators
  • Mentor and develop underwriting and credit support staff; manage performance reviews, workflow, and employee relations
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, fair lending laws, and examination requirements
  • Participate in regulator meetings as an equipment finance credit subject matter expert
  • Perform special projects and additional duties as required
  • Complete required compliance training

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School / High School Equivalency (GED, HiSET, TASC) / Foreign Equivalent required
  • 10+ years of experience in credit/lending required
  • Advanced ability to analyze financial statements, assess creditworthiness, evaluate collateral value, and identify equipment finance credit risks
  • Deep knowledge of equipment finance products, lease structures, residual values, and equipment-specific credit considerations
  • Ability to make sound credit decisions within established authority limits and resolve complex credit situations
  • Proven track record of managing and developing credit and underwriting staff
  • Strong understanding of lending regulations and fair lending practices
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Extensive knowledge of the equipment finance market, pricing, structure, and credit trends
  • Undergraduate degree preferred
