About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead underwriting efforts for complex loan requests by assessing creditworthiness and recommending risk-mitigating structures
  • Continuously monitor the assigned loan portfolio to identify credit risks, trends, and financial performance concerns
  • Partner with relationship managers in negotiations and client discussions
  • Review and negotiate credit agreements with legal teams
  • Provide guidance and training to junior credit professionals
  • Identify and raise improvement areas in credit processes and procedures
  • Use independent judgment and discretion for assigned portfolio decisions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Undergraduate degree (4 years or equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, or 10+ years of equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of experience in commercial credit analysis, underwriting, or portfolio management
  • Advanced financial modeling and risk assessment expertise
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to collaborate with clients
  • Experience structuring complex loan transactions
  • Ability to analyze macroeconomic trends and their impact on credit risk
  • Strong command of industry-specific credit risks and commercial credit transaction structuring
  • Ability to identify credit risks and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Experience managing complex portfolios and adhering to credit policies
  • Ability to communicate credit decisions effectively to internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to drive loan structuring and closing processes with minimal oversight
  • Familiarity with credit agreements, loan documentation, and regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency in financial analysis tools, CRM systems, and underwriting software
  • Ability to maintain effective stakeholder relationships and deliver tailored client solutions
