About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead Flagstar’s Employee Relations function as a trusted advisor to HR and Legal.
  • Establish and execute employee relations strategy ensuring fair workplace culture.
  • Oversee complex investigations involving misconduct and policy violations.
  • Develop resources and standards for employee counseling, document standards, and performance management methodologies.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the team on complex issues.
  • Design and implement employee relations strategy aligned with company goals.
  • Maintain and interpret employee relations policies and procedures.
  • Conduct ethics-related investigations in partnership with Enterprise Compliance.
  • Analyze case trends, identify organizational risks, and prepare executive-level reporting.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) in Human Resources, Business Administration, Labor Relations, or related field.
  • 10+ Years of progressive experience in employee relations, workplace investigations, employment law, labor relations, or related experience.
  • 3 years of people management experience.
  • Master's Degree (or Postgraduate equivalent) in Human Resources, Industrial or Labor Relations, other related business function (preferred).
  • 12+ years of progressive Employee relations, workplace investigation, employment law, labor relations, or related experience (preferred).
  • 5+ years of people management experience (preferred).
  • Professional certification from SHRM or HRCI preferred.
