About the role
- Overseeing first-line credit underwriting and portfolio management within an assigned vertical.
- Ensuring alignment with the bank’s risk appetite and business objectives.
- Managing a team of underwriters and credit professionals.
- Identifying emerging risks and opportunities.
- Collaborating with sales, risk, and technology teams to drive responsible growth.
- Maintaining portfolio quality and supporting the bank’s long-term success.
Requirements
- Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) in Business, Economics or related field.
- Minimum 12+ Years of 1st line of defense leveraged finance credit underwriting, portfolio management, and risk management experience within the Financial Industry.
- Banking experience in the Leisure, Hospitality and Gaming sector is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in managing teams of credit analysts, underwriters in the specialty vertical.
- 5+ years of experience in the direct specialized line of business (Specialized commercial industries, capital markets, corporate commercial banking, etc.)
- Experience and expertise in credit bureaus, credit decision engines, credit and cash flow modeling for underwriting and portfolio management decisions, income/identity verification and loss forecasting.
