About the role
- Independently and fully responsible for ongoing financial accounting (fixed assets, inventories, and bank) in the ERP system — including ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
- Independently manage payment transactions and record and review payroll in coordination with external service providers.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements according to HGB and IFRS and prepare consolidated reporting (including tax package and supplementary disclosures) in close cooperation with the finance team at headquarters.
- Actively participate in budget and forecast processes (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow), analyze variances and business developments, and produce relevant balance sheet and KPI analyses.
- Ensure all timely statutory filings, e.g., VAT returns, recapitulative statements (EC Sales Lists), and statistical reports.
- Act as the primary contact for tax advisors, auditors, and internal stakeholders.
- Flexible working, particularly during fast-close phases around month-end and year-end closings, to ensure timely reporting.
Requirements
- Degree in Finance/Accounting or alternatively a commercial vocational qualification with further training as a certified balance sheet accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter).
- Several years of professional experience in financial and balance sheet accounting, ideally within a corporate/group or reporting environment, and experience preparing financial statements independently.
- Confident user of common ERP systems and excellent Excel skills.
- Structured, precise and responsible working style combined with a high level of independence in daily accounting tasks.
- High level of time flexibility and commitment, especially during closing phases (Fast Close).
- Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken.
