About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Work on impactful customer technical projects, including implementation, troubleshooting configurations, instilling best practices, and solutioning MVPs and long-term solutions for customer-specific requirements
Consult on architecture and design
Ensure strategic dbt platform customers adopt the product
Collaborate with Sales, Solution Architects, Training, and Support teams
Provide feedback to product and engineering teams to improve and prioritize customer requests and rapidly resolve engagement-specific issues
Become a dbt product expert in the context of the modern data stack

Requirements

What you’ll need

Deep experience working with enterprise customers across varied use cases, ideally in a customer-facing post-sales, technical architect, or consulting role
Deep expertise in at least one data platform: Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift
At least 2 years of experience with dbt, ideally including 1 year with dbt platform
Proficiency in SQL and some Python experience
Willingness to build technical skills supporting deployment and integration of dbt platform solutions
Customer-focused approach
Highly organized and comfortable with technical project delivery, including scope, timelines, and deliverables across multiple engagements
Clear and concise communication about complex technical, architectural, and organizational problems, with ability to propose thorough iterative solutions
Ability to thrive in a remote organization valuing transparency and cross-collaboration
Approximately 10% travel expected for occasional customer visits, company retreat, and offsites
dbt Analytics Engineering Certification is an advantage
Ability to advise on dbt Platform recommendations and build customer direction and consensus is an advantage
Experience with traditional enterprise ETL tooling such as Informatica, Datastage, or Talend is an advantage
