About the role
- Lead the drafting, review, redlining, and negotiation of a wide range of commercial agreements, including NDAs, Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), DPAs (Data Processing Agreement) and related amendments.
- Partner with business stakeholders to define sourcing requirements, develop procurement strategies, and ensure alignment with business objectives and timelines.
- Own and drive commercial negotiations with suppliers to secure optimal pricing, payment terms, service levels, delivery schedules, and contractual protections.
- Experience negotiating SaaS, Data Center, AI, Hardware, and Contingent Services contracts. History of stellar cost saving achievement.
- Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and Infosec to ensure agreements meet operational, financial, security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
- Ensure procurement activities and contracts adhere to internal policies and applicable federal and state requirements; proactively identify and mitigate contractual and supplier risks.
- Maintain accurate documentation of contract activity, approvals, negotiation positions, and final terms to support audit readiness and ongoing contract administration.
- Support supplier onboarding and relationship management; measure and monitor supplier performance against contract SLAs/metrics and initiate corrective actions when needed.
- Contribute to departmental goals by identifying sourcing opportunities and driving measurable cost savings and value improvements through competitive sourcing and effective negotiation.
- Support resolution of contractual disputes and supplier performance issues, ensuring clear remedies, escalation paths, and appropriate stakeholder alignment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- 5–10 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, contract management, or a related commercial function within a medium to large organization.
- Strong proficiency drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements and managing risk in a procurement environment.
- Demonstrated success leading commercial negotiations with suppliers and influencing outcomes across cost, terms, and service delivery.
- Experience supporting SaaS and/or technology procurement is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate data, benchmark pricing, and identify sourcing opportunities and trade-offs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to use tact and diplomacy with stakeholders at all levels and with external suppliers.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Self-driven, highly accountable, trustworthy, and able to work independently in a remote setting.
