About the role
- Support enterprise solutions with event driven platforms and automation, transforming the Enterprise Data Streaming Services
- Contribute to the engineering, automation, and operational support of Fiserv’s global (Kafka) Event Streaming Services Platform
- Assist in new application builds, scaled deployments, and operations for all customers while ensuring scalability, security, and high availability of mission critical systems
- Design, deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Kafka and Flink clusters in Cloud or on-prem environments
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for seamless integration and automation of Event Streaming services
- Proactively identify opportunities to automate to improve gaps and support operational excellence
- Monitor and optimize Kafka and Flink infrastructure performance
- Collaborate with developers and architects to build & support Event Streaming solutions leveraging tools such as Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, Flink, Cruise Control, Spark, Snowflake, Streams Replication Manager or Mirror Maker 2.0
- Ensure observability through monitoring tools like Grafana, Moogsoft, and Dynatrace to visualize system health and performance metrics
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience with DevOps, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), or related role in an Agile environment
- 6+ years of experience working with message systems, such as Apache Kafka, and stream-processing frameworks like Apache Flink in both cloud and on-prem environments
- 6+ years of experience designing, deploying, and supporting production cloud environments, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, and private cloud environments
- 6+ years of experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins, Rundeck)
- 6+ years of experience with Flink application optimization, cluster tuning, monitoring for EngOps team (status, alerts, etc.), and metrics for trend analysis and capacity planning
- 6+ years of hands-on experience with configuration management and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Ansible, Terraform, or equivalent tools like Chef
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash or similar languages
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of work, education, and/or military experience
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
- This role is fully on-site
