About the role

  • Support Merchant Solutions division by providing legal advice and partnering with business and product teams.
  • Draft and negotiate commercial agreements directly with business unit representatives and strategic bank partners and resellers.
  • Advise business partners on legal, contractual, and risk matters impacting their business units or product sets.
  • Partner with product teams to commercialize new products and functionalities.
  • Provide legal consultation and advice on strategic initiatives, technology projects, and dispute resolution.
  • Collaborate with corporate specialists on credit, risk, finance, audit, tax, regulatory, privacy, and technology matters impacting the Merchant Solutions division.
  • Develop and maintain forms of contracts and other legal documentation.
  • Engage with senior business and sales executives to support commercial objectives.

Requirements

  • JD from an accredited law school and in good standing with State Bar with no disciplinary record.
  • Licensed to practice, and ability to become licensed as in-house counsel to practice, in the applicable state.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience as a transactional lawyer.
  • Experience interacting with senior management (preferred).
  • Experience navigating data use and privacy matters (preferred).
  • Technical contract experience (preferred).
  • Exposure to financial services and technology contracts (preferred).
  • On-site Monday through Friday in the Greater Fort Lauderdale area (role primarily based there).
  • Role not eligible to be performed in Colorado, California, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Nevada, Rhode Island or Washington.
