About the role
- Lead the design, implementation, and management of scalable, secure, cloud-based development environments using Coder.com
- Architect and manage cloud-based development environments across multiple teams and projects
- Design scalable and secure infrastructure to support containerized development environments
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management of development environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
- Integrate Coder.com with CI/CD pipelines, identity providers, and developer tools
- Monitor and optimize performance, cost, and user experience of cloud development environments
- Establish best practices and governance for secure and compliant development workflows
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams adopting cloud-based development
- Stay current with trends in cloud-native development, DevOps, and remote development tooling
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in systems or cloud engineering
- 3+ years of experience designing and managing cloud-native development environments
- 3+ years of experience with Coder.com or similar platforms (e.g., GitHub Codespaces, JetBrains Gateway, Gitpod)
- 3+ years of experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- 3+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Pulumi
- 3+ years of experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business and/or equivalent military experience
- Experience integrating Coder.com with enterprise authentication and authorization systems (e.g., SSO, LDAP, OAuth) (preferred)
- Experience with observability tools for monitoring developer environments (preferred)
