About the role

  • Leverage Fiserv's approved monitoring tools (Splunk, Dynatrace, CA ASM, SiteScope, ExtraHop, Moogsoft, etc.) to empower operations teams in proactively identifying and remediating issues
  • Develop end-to-end monitoring dashboards, alerts, and reports for on-premise and cloud applications
  • Build complex SPL queries and optimize Splunk searches using summary indexes, KV stores, lookups, and data model acceleration
  • Manage Splunk data onboarding and integration via logs, DB Connect, HEC, and Splunk REST APIs
  • Create and deploy Splunk configuration files (inputs.conf, props.conf, transforms.conf) and implement parsing, timestamping, data masking, and filtering
  • Onboard applications to Dynatrace and create visibility for processes and services
  • Enable monitoring for container platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift, PCF, AKS, EKS)
  • Create advanced Selenium-based scripts to emulate user behavior for synthetic monitoring in CA ASM, SiteScope, and Dynatrace
  • Ensure operations teams can effectively monitor application health across the organization
  • Participate in on-call rotational support for non-standard and overnight hours

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in implementing monitoring and performance engineering practices
  • 7+ years of scripting or software development experience
  • 7+ years of experience using monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, CA ASM, SiteScope, NPM tools (e.g., ExtraHop), or equivalent tools
  • 6+ years of experience working with large-scale financial systems architectures
  • Splunk 9.x Power User and Splunk 9.x Admin Certifications or willingness to obtain the training
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, and/or equivalent military experience
  • Experience with Splunk SPL and building complex queries
  • Experience implementing summary indexes, KV stores, lookups, and data model acceleration in Splunk
  • Experience onboarding data into Splunk (logs, DB Connect, HTTP Event Collector) and using Splunk REST APIs
  • Experience creating and deploying Splunk configuration files (inputs.conf, props.conf, transforms.conf) and implementing line breaking, timestamp extraction, timezone settings, data masking, and data filtering
  • Experience onboarding applications onto Dynatrace and creating visibility for processes and services
  • Experience enabling monitoring for cloud container platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift, PCF, AKS, EKS)
  • Experience creating advanced Selenium-based scripts for synthetic monitoring
  • Willingness to be on-call during non-standard and/or overnight hours on a rotational basis
