About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Execute Enterprise telemetry and observability strategy, including metrics, logs, traces, events, dashboards, alerting, and SLOs across hybrid and cloud platforms
- Work with platform engineering teams responsible for observability platforms, automation frameworks, and self-service capabilities for application and infrastructure teams
- Drive standardization of telemetry and instrumentation across application portfolios to improve visibility, resiliency, and operational maturity
- Partner closely with application development, production support, SRE, cyber security, and business teams to align observability capabilities to business outcomes and operational needs
- Establish and govern best practices for monitoring, alerting, incident response, and automation, reducing MTTR and operational noise
- Lead automation initiatives across CI/CD, environment provisioning, monitoring, and remediation to eliminate manual toil
- Translate business and operational requirements into scalable platform capabilities, roadmaps, and technical standards
- Provide clear executive level communication on platform health, risks, operational insights, and improvement plans
- Manage vendor partnerships and platform selections related to observability, telemetry, and automation tools
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years of experience in platform engineering, or site reliability engineering
- Strong direct experience with telemetry and observability concepts (metrics, logs, traces, alerting, dashboards)
- Experience operating in cloud and hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP)
- Solid understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, and automation frameworks
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming or scripting languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go, C#)
- Strong experience collaborating across development, operations, and business teams in large, complex organizations
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills
- 8+ years of an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or military service.
