About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Execute Enterprise telemetry and observability strategy, including metrics, logs, traces, events, dashboards, alerting, and SLOs across hybrid and cloud platforms
Work with platform engineering teams responsible for observability platforms, automation frameworks, and self-service capabilities for application and infrastructure teams
Drive standardization of telemetry and instrumentation across application portfolios to improve visibility, resiliency, and operational maturity
Partner closely with application development, production support, SRE, cyber security, and business teams to align observability capabilities to business outcomes and operational needs
Establish and govern best practices for monitoring, alerting, incident response, and automation, reducing MTTR and operational noise
Lead automation initiatives across CI/CD, environment provisioning, monitoring, and remediation to eliminate manual toil
Translate business and operational requirements into scalable platform capabilities, roadmaps, and technical standards
Provide clear executive level communication on platform health, risks, operational insights, and improvement plans
Manage vendor partnerships and platform selections related to observability, telemetry, and automation tools

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years of experience in platform engineering, or site reliability engineering
Strong direct experience with telemetry and observability concepts (metrics, logs, traces, alerting, dashboards)
Experience operating in cloud and hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP)
Solid understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, and automation frameworks
Proficiency in one or more modern programming or scripting languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go, C#)
Strong experience collaborating across development, operations, and business teams in large, complex organizations
Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills
8+ years of an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or military service.
