About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Configure all of Fiserv’s mainframe related hardware in US and global data centers
Replace and upgrade hardware, keep up with fixes and patches
Diagnose and resolve hardware issues
Monitor system performance and adjust to improve efficiency
Work closely with software engineers, system administrators, and IT professionals
Maintain detailed documentation of hardware configurations
Utilize the IOCP mainframe to define and manage configurations
Participate in datacenter relocations and disaster recovery exercises

Requirements

What you’ll need

7+ years of experience in mainframe hardware
7+ years of experience in mainframe hardware components, system architecture, and troubleshooting techniques
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education, work, and military service
Understanding of standard networking protocols and components (HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, ICMP, subnetting, load balancing strategies)
Certifications (e.g., IBM Certified Specialist) may be advantageous
