About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner with internal and external sales teams to support merchant discussions, assess business requirements, and explain product capabilities throughout the sales process.
- Serve as a subject matter resource for sales teams before and during the sales cycle to help identify merchant needs, address product fit questions, and improve sales readiness.
- Analyze sales and merchant feedback to identify trends, training opportunities, and process improvements that increase sales effectiveness and merchant satisfaction.
- Troubleshoot complex merchant and product issues that cannot be resolved through standard support channels and coordinate escalation to Tier 2, Tier 3, or product teams as needed.
- Act as an escalation point for sales and merchant issues, helping determine root cause, document findings, and drive resolution across business and technical partners.
- Work directly with product owners and internal stakeholders to communicate recurring issues, unmet merchant needs, and gaps in product or process performance.
- Support process improvement efforts related to sales enablement, merchant onboarding, issue resolution, and cross-functional handoffs.
- Prepare documentation, recommendations, and trend reporting to support leadership discussions, training needs, and operational decision-making.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of experience in business process analysis, sales support, sales operations, merchant services, or a related function within banking, payments, or financial services environments.
- Experience supporting sales processes from pre-sale consultation through merchant onboarding, issue resolution, and post-sale support.
- Experience troubleshooting operational or product issues, coordinating escalations, and driving resolution across cross-functional teams.
- Experience working with sales teams, merchants, and business partners to gather requirements, explain solutions, and improve process outcomes.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.
