About the role
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of mainframe-based applications to support Fiserv's business goals
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into COBOL/JCL/CICS/DB2 technical specifications
- Perform coding, testing, and debugging of mainframe programs to ensure optimal performance and reliability
- Maintain and improve existing mainframe codebase s, optimize batch and online processes, and lead peer review processes
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance on mainframe best practices to enhance team capabilities
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in mainframe application development
- 6+ years of experience in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM
- 6+ years of experience with mainframe utilities, performance tuning, and debugging tools
- 6+ years of experience with batch and online transaction processing systems
- 1+ year of experience with Fiserv applications and systems
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field (or foreign equivalent degree) or equivalent work experience
