About the role

  • Monitor and analyze economic, political, and business trends in Sub-Saharan Africa
  • Forecast macroeconomic indicators and provide ongoing economic analysis
  • Produce syndicated research deliverables that are concise and impactful for senior executive audiences
  • Deliver research presentations to senior executive clients, including C-suite engagement
  • Collaborate closely with the commercial team to support FrontierView's growth strategy and client relationships
  • Report to the Head of Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA)
  • Drive alignment with internal and external stakeholders and pressure test views
  • Manage multiple research projects and produce short-form analysis on varied topics

Requirements

  • 2+ years of work experience in a research or analysis role, ideally in or for the private sector
  • A Bachelor's degree from a well-regarded academic institution in Economics, Regional Studies, or International Relations
  • A Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., international economics) (listed)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of macroeconomics through prior experience or relevant coursework
  • Passion for global politics and economics and strong macroeconomic fundamentals
  • Solid understanding of how local dynamics, policy, and politics interact with economic dynamics
  • Ability to quickly get up to speed on unfamiliar topics
  • Exceptionally strong communicator; exceptional written and oral English skills
  • Ability to distil complex and technical topics for non-specialists
  • Strong ability to work with internal and external stakeholders to drive alignment and pressure test views
  • Ability to quickly put together short-form written analysis
  • Experience managing multiple research projects; excellent time and project management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel
  • Robust interpersonal, communication, presentation, and persuasion skills
  • Outstanding writing skills
