About the role
- Design, build, and support event-driven systems for critical banking platforms
- Develop and operate Kafka-based event pipelines at enterprise scale
- Defining data and automation strategy
- Build backend services and integrations using Python
- Participate in system design, architecture reviews, and production support
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and client-facing teams
- Write technical specs, documentation, and operational runbooks
- Support systems in Unix/Linux environments
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in backend or platform engineering
- Strong experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures
- Proficiency in Python, and Unix/Linux
- Experience with Snowflake, Oracle, and/or MongoDB
- Strong SQL and database design skills
- Experience building RESTful or event-based services
- Familiarity with automation processes and tools (e.g., JUnit)
- Experience in financial services or regulated environments
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
