About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist current senior BDOs with file management
- Work with customers to obtain documentation
- Provide assistance with financial analysis
- Complete assignments and various business development tasks
- Deliver a superior customer experience
- Collaborate with a supervisor and/or training mentor on assigned curriculum and career planning
- Lead or participate in various projects
- Participate in trainee development meetings and conferences
- Lead designated discussion groups
- Serve in place of absent BDOs as needed
- Travel to banking centers, regional operations sites, and additional meeting locations
- Promote the bank through community involvement
- Leverage contacts to create a pipeline of new business opportunities
- Identify and cultivate relationships with external referral sources
- Maintain a consistent pipeline of high-quality new SBA loan transactions
- Collect, organize, and securely save required borrower documents
- Participate in initial kick-off calls with borrowers and Underwriters
- Assist Underwriters and Closers in gathering documentation and ensuring borrower cooperation
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree
- Recent college graduate suitable for the development program
- Complete the NAGGL SBA Lender training course
- Complete mentoring and coaching tasks
- Complete assigned curriculum and a Career Growth Planner (CGP)
- Complete each phase of the program and a skills assessment
- Demonstrate competency and knowledge in discussion with a SBA Business Development Director
- Ability to travel to banking centers, regional operations sites, and additional meeting locations
- Ability to collect, organize, save, and secure sensitive or personally identifiable borrower information
- Ability to obtain written explanations and additional documentation addressing borrower character issues
- Ability to assist Underwriters and Closers with required documentation and borrower cooperation
