About the role
- Partner with Subject Matter Experts, operational leaders, and business users to develop a deep understanding of product features, workflows, and business needs.
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to define and evolve product strategy in the auto finance and loan servicing domain.
- Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring priorities align with business goals and customer impact.
- Write clear, actionable user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.
- Facilitate backlog grooming, sprint planning, and other Agile ceremonies to drive efficient delivery.
- Act as the primary liaison between stakeholders and engineering teams, ensuring clarity, alignment, and timely decision-making.
- Translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Monitor product performance, gather feedback, and continuously iterate to improve outcomes.
- Work closely with Product Management during the initial 6 to 12 months to ramp up on domain and product knowledge, then take ownership of specific product areas.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role.
- Bachelor’s degree required (Computer Science or related field preferred).
- Strong track record of delivering complex, high-impact products.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in Agile environments.
- Proven ability to create high-quality user stories, acceptance criteria, and product documentation.
- Strong understanding of business process mapping, user flows, and system interactions.
- Hands-on experience with tools such as Jira or similar backlog management tools.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and handle ambiguity.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to define and track success metrics.
- Prior experience in financial services, lending, or fintech is preferred.
- CSPO or equivalent Agile certification is highly desirable.
