About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build proficiency in underwriting and complete the underwriting process from beginning to end.
Underwrite increasingly complex commercial relationships to determine the creditworthiness of applicants.
Perform financial analysis and risk assessment for the commercial credit portfolio.
Review commercial loan applications and analyze credit information to assess creditworthiness.
Determine whether proposed loans conform to the Bank’s lending policy.
Provide feedback to Sales and Credit teams regarding loan structure, underwriting, and management.
Maintain ongoing communication with management on the status of transactions.
Work with relationship managers and portfolio managers during the underwriting process.
Complete accurate Credit Memos for presentation to credit authorities for decision-making.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration
Three to five years of credit or Business Banking underwriting experience
Proficiency in mathematical concepts, in order to apply to practical situations.
Knowledge of advanced accounting principles and techniques
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, planning and follow-up
Ability to work independently on multiple tasks without compromising quality
Proficient use of Microsoft Office and other internet resources
