About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build proficiency in underwriting and complete the underwriting process from beginning to end.
- Underwrite increasingly complex commercial relationships to determine the creditworthiness of applicants.
- Perform financial analysis and risk assessment for the commercial credit portfolio.
- Review commercial loan applications and analyze credit information to assess creditworthiness.
- Determine whether proposed loans conform to the Bank’s lending policy.
- Provide feedback to Sales and Credit teams regarding loan structure, underwriting, and management.
- Maintain ongoing communication with management on the status of transactions.
- Work with relationship managers and portfolio managers during the underwriting process.
- Complete accurate Credit Memos for presentation to credit authorities for decision-making.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration
- Three to five years of credit or Business Banking underwriting experience
- Proficiency in mathematical concepts, in order to apply to practical situations.
- Knowledge of advanced accounting principles and techniques
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, planning and follow-up
- Ability to work independently on multiple tasks without compromising quality
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office and other internet resources
