About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead teams building mission-critical, offline-first mobile applications
Partner with Product/PM to translate customer requirements into a roadmap
Drive the engineering team to deliver against the roadmap
Guide mixed iOS/Android team decisions and evaluate cross-platform trade-offs
Triage production issues using Instabug/Firebase and guide root-cause investigations
Coach engineers through customer-impacting bugs and complex technical problems
Review mobile architecture designs and set technical direction
Guide RESTful API, data synchronization, and authentication architecture decisions
Mentor engineers on debugging, performance optimization, and memory management
Establish engineering best practices
Hire and grow the mobile engineering team
Conduct performance management, 1:1s, and career development planning
Collaborate with Product/PM and cross-functional stakeholders

Requirements

What you’ll need

10+ years of hands-on experience in native iOS application development using Swift
3+ years in a formal engineering management or technical lead role directly managing mobile engineers
Exposure to Android development, including Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, or Android architecture components
Proven experience leading teams building mission-critical, offline-first mobile applications
Ability to partner with Product/PM to translate customer requirements into a roadmap and drive delivery
Experience with Instabug/Firebase for production issue triage and root-cause investigation
Strong understanding of MVVM and Clean Architecture
Working knowledge of RESTful API integration, data synchronization, and secure authentication mechanisms
Working knowledge of WebViews
Strong grounding in debugging, performance optimization, and memory management
Demonstrated experience leading mobile development initiatives, establishing engineering best practices, hiring, and growing a team
Experience with performance management, 1:1s, career development planning, and cross-functional stakeholder communication
Experience with Flutter, React Native, or Ionic/Capacitor
US work authorization; must be authorized to work for any US employer
Ability to pass a criminal background check
