About the role
- Writing efficient, well documented code to create modelling datasets
- Produce regular reporting and adhoc analysis using Python, SAS, SQL, Excel or other software packages
- Assess new data sources to derive features predictive of claims experience
- Monitor, maintain, update and proactively identify ways to improve existing predictive models
- Collaborate with other pricing teams to establish best pricing and modelling practices
Requirements
- a First-Class Honours degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a closely related discipline
- Strong foundation in Mathematics, evidenced by achieving an A grade at A-Level
- Hands-on coding experience, with proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL
- Understanding of statistical modelling using GBMs/GLMs
- Understanding of data science concepts and tools would be advantages
- Understanding of insurance pricing and products
- Intermediate IT skills
- Use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
