About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee a portfolio of business relationships in the transportation industry to achieve client and risk management goals
  • Develop strong client relationships and ensure overall client satisfaction
  • Interact consistently with factoring clients through thorough and meaningful conversations
  • Become a trusted advisor on prospective debtors and receivable solutions
  • Monitor portfolio activity, identify trends, and mitigate risks and discrepancies
  • Review receivable aging regularly for each client
  • Analyze client-provided financials for assigned portfolio clients when appropriate
  • Evaluate credit risks associated with prospective and existing clients
  • Prepare and present credit proposals and recommendations with credit and operations teams
  • Monitor factoring files for proper maintenance and complete, accurate documentation
  • Update account information and maintain accurate customer records
  • Manage portfolio reviews, risk rating changes, and other portfolio documentation
  • Manage reserve accounts and report concerns regarding reserve balances and accounts-receivable aging risk
  • Communicate factoring product benefits to prospective clients and referral sources
  • Review publications and attend industry functions to build industry and competitor knowledge
  • Structure, prepare, and present client opportunities for factoring relationships
  • Assist the business development team in reviewing and analyzing prospective client relationships
  • Consult with leadership to ensure account portfolios align with credit policies and approval requirements
  • Advise management on client account matters, performance, opportunities, and recommended actions
  • Monitor industry, economic, and financial trends affecting the factoring client portfolio
  • Attend team, underwriting, business development, and risk management meetings
  • Follow employee handbook policies and procedures and complete required compliance activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate’s degree, plus two years of relevant work experience or the equivalent
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Proven analytical skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Basic financial acumen
  • Familiarity with accounts receivable concepts
  • Ability to manage numerous business clients
  • Ability to assist with project initiatives while providing exceptional customer service
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to learn factoring operating system technology
  • Must adhere to First Bank & Trust policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Required participation in compliance training
