About the role
- Developing and maintaining complex and responsive user interfaces modern JavaScript frameworks such as React and Next.js
- Making meaningful and regular contributions to the company’s Web Component library to ensure consistency and efficiency across our applications.
- Collaborating with product designers and other engineers to translate wireframes and mockups into high-quality user interfaces.
- Writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code using the latest HTML, JavaScript, and CSS standards.
- Participating in code reviews and providing constructive feedback to team members.
- Developing, troubleshooting, and debugging features/issues across different browsers.
- Monitoring metrics and optimizing applications for performance and scalability.
- Staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, applying them to improve existing systems and processes.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in frontend development with demonstrable expertise in browser-based applications.
- Passion for web standards and creating user-friendly experiences.
- Proficiency in modern JavaScript/TypeScript and extensive experience with at least one major frontend framework (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js).
- Strong understanding of HTML and CSS, including semantic markup and responsive design principles.
- Ability to write and maintain meaningful unit tests that support feature development using frameworks such as Jest or Cyprus.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and best practices, such as atomic commits and meaningful commit messages.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of web accessibility principles and best practices.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to break down complex tasks and explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical users.
- Experience using modern AI coding tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to enhance productivity and code quality.
- Experience with Web Components and other browser-native APIs is a plus.
- Experience with Monorepos and GitHub NPM Package Repository is a plus.
- Experience contributing to open-source projects is a plus.
- Familiarity with .NET framework and backend technologies is a plus.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes is a plus.
- Proficient with macOS is a plus.
