About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own and thoroughly understand a business domain such as billing and payment flows and serve as the point of contact
  • Work directly with accounting, support, partners, and customers to gather requirements
  • Describe features in full detail, including states, transitions, notifications, user group permissions, exception and cancellation flows, admin views, and persistent data
  • Resolve open questions before development starts
  • Support the team with decision-making during implementation
  • Prioritize work, align stakeholders, accept deliverables, and take responsibility for rollout
  • Make and defend scope decisions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Instinctively consider the scenario in which something doesn’t work (failure cases)
  • Think in terms of user groups and permissions, not just screens
  • Be technically fluent enough to discuss data models, interfaces, and dependencies with developers
  • Have previously accompanied a product or module from initial requirements through to production/operation
  • Familiarity with Scrum or Kanban is welcome but not required
