About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the technical escalation point for our finance core — the most complex FICO issues will be escalated to you.
  • Own solution design and system architecture for the finance platform: design solutions in S/4HANA, determine when to build vs. configure vs. adopt standard functionality, and technically validate every change before it goes to production.
  • Lead FICO workstreams in our SAP transformation, from redesigning Record-to-Report and Controlling processes to quality-gating deliverables from our external implementation partner.
  • Continuously monitor and improve existing financial workflows to ensure alignment with SAP Global Standards and “Clean Core” principles.
  • Mentor and develop our FICO consultants: review their deliverables, grow their technical skills, and create runbooks and best practices that increase team resilience.
  • Support the design of modern integrations using SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) to connect S/4HANA with internal and external systems.
  • Challenge the status quo: proactively identify configuration, tooling, or automation opportunities that save time and improve the SAP user experience.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years of hands-on SAP FICO experience (GL, AP/AR, AA, CO) in SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud. Strong knowledge of SAP RE-FX.
  • Understanding of integration touchpoints with other modules (e.g., MM, SD, Subscription Billing). Experience with SAP Treasury and BCM is a plus.
  • Proven experience designing RICEFW objects, including interface design using SAP Integration Suite (CPI) and BTP.
  • Solid accounting background (IFRS and HGB).
  • Demonstrated experience steering or quality-gating external consultants/system integrators; you can distinguish a high-quality deliverable from a merely plausible one.
  • Strong preference for SAP standards and avoidance of custom development to keep the system maintainable; you actively advocate returning to standard solutions.
  • Experience in full-cycle implementations or major roll-outs and the ability to switch between deep technical work and high-level project coordination.
  • Proactive, decisive, and comfortable solving complex problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience mentoring or technically leading other consultants; you raise the capability of those around you, not just your own output.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Highly analytical and data-driven, with strong customer focus and readiness to work in an impact-driven environment.
  • Experience with product development and Agile methodologies.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Understanding of adjacent systems in the data chain (DWH, automation tools) is a plus.
