About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate operations, disaster recovery testing, maintenance, and support for data communications and networking hardware and software across Finastra locations
  • Configure and troubleshoot Azure cloud networking environments, including vNets, UDRs, NSGs, and ALBs
  • Install, configure, monitor, and manage network and data communications equipment, including routers, switches, intrusion detection systems, VPN concentrators, load balancers, SDWAN connections, and firewalls
  • Monitor networks and data communications facilities using approved network management tools
  • Monitor access to telecommunications carriers and manage connection equipment
  • Perform capacity planning, monitor network capacity, and work with carriers to adjust capacity
  • Manage internet access, including router and firewall configuration, routing protocols, and performance monitoring
  • Troubleshoot network problems, document resolutions, provide tier 2 support, and escalate issues as needed
  • Maintain network equipment
  • Maintain technical configuration documents and update processes and procedures
  • Provide weekly work activity updates to the Manager and/or Director of Network Operations
  • Participate in infrastructure and network project teams
  • Develop detailed implementation plans from high-level engineering and architecture plans
  • Convert internal and external customer requirements into actionable change requests
  • Participate in 24-hour on-call duties, occasional outside-normal-hours office work, and occasional travel
  • Maintain a personal professional education plan

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience with cloud networking principles in Azure and AWS
  • Functional knowledge of networking and data communications fundamentals, including Ethernet and routing protocols such as TCP/IP
  • Functional knowledge of SD-WAN
  • Functional knowledge of internetworking standards
  • Functional knowledge of network management tools such as FortiManager and SolarWinds
  • Knowledge of the OSI protocol model
  • University degree or college diploma in computer studies or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience
  • Cisco certification is a bonus
  • Functional planning ability
  • Functional problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Technical oral and written communication skills
  • Functional customer relations skills
  • Functional organizational and interpersonal relations skills
  • Ability to work well in a project team environment
  • Python, Terraform, or scripting skillsets are a plus
  • Adaptability and flexibility
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Results-oriented approach
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco equipment, Fortinet firewalls, BigIP F5 load balancers, related management tools, and Cisco Viptela SD-WAN management platform
  • Willingness to work U.S. business hours, rotational shifts, and on-call support as required by business needs
