About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and shape policy initiatives supporting innovation and efficiency across UK wholesale markets
- Partner with colleagues and stakeholders to develop, communicate and consult on policy proposals
- Gain exposure to senior leaders and build productive relationships across the financial services sector
- Collaborate across the FCA with Legal, Supervision, Market Oversight, Competition and Economics teams
- Build trusted relationships with key UK and international regulatory partners
- Guide decisions, shape policy thinking and support positive change across financial markets
- Develop deep knowledge in primary markets and contribute to long-term career growth
- Review complex market information and data, identify key themes, draw evidence-based conclusions and develop policy solutions

Requirements
What you’ll need- Prior experience developing and delivering policy
- Clear understanding of UK policymaking and legislative processes and their practical application
- Prior policymaking experience within wholesale financial markets
- Ability to analyse complex issues and contribute to effective regulatory solutions
- Well-developed analytical skills for reviewing complex information and data, identifying key themes, drawing evidence-based conclusions and developing policy solutions
- Ability to prioritise competing demands, manage risks and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment
- Clear verbal communication skills and confidence presenting complex issues to varied audiences
- Highly developed writing and drafting skills for preparing clear, concise and effective policy materials
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with senior leaders, regulatory partners and colleagues
- Effective project planning and organisational skills, including coordinating workstreams and meeting objectives and timelines
- Collaborative and inclusive approach
