About the role
- Developing tools and conducting data analysis to offer insights on the risks that banks face, this will include:
- Scoping, prioritisation and execution of data projects
- Coordinating multi-firm analysis which identifies and addresses outliers
- Engaging with supervisors to present your findings and recommendations for follow up with firms
- Where relevant, escalating identified risks for inclusion in our risk framework
- Supporting the implementation of an external communications strategy and risk strategy
- Working within a team and assisting on workstreams both within the team and across the department more broadly
- Collaborating inclusively, contributing to an environment where all opinions are listened to and respected and engaging with the FCA’s Diversity and Inclusion agenda
Requirements
- Prior experience of data transformation, processing and analysis through Python or similar
- Demonstratable experience building products with Tableau or similar, with visualisation skills
- Solid data analysis skills, with experience presenting insights clearly and effectively
- A positive, self-motivated approach with a willingness to learn, apply new concepts, and develop your skill set
- Ability to use data and analysis to inform judgement, draw meaningful insights, and produce evidence‑based recommendations, while engaging critically with emerging issues and contributing to problem‑solving
- Proven capability to manage multiple priorities in an environment with shifting priorities, supported by effective organisational and time‑management skills
- A collaborative team player, able to work effectively with colleagues across a diverse and inclusive working environment
- A demonstrated interest in wholesale financial markets and investment banking
- Understanding of data governance principles, including data quality, controls, and the appropriate handling of sensitive information
- Working knowledge of how data is structured, accessed, and managed within databases, as well as how data flows across an organisation from collection and analysis through to decision‑making
