About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as fractional Client CFO for a portfolio of e-commerce, retail, and CPG clients and brands
- Own FP&A efforts, including budgeting, cash runway, forecasting, and board reporting
- Act as a strategic partner to founders, CEOs, and investors, turning data into business decisions
- Manage banking, credit, investor, and board relationships
- Build and maintain dynamic 1/3/5-year financial models
- Drive rolling forecasts, margin analysis, scenario planning, and demand planning
- Build KPI dashboards and reporting systems for executive teams
- Review reconciliation data with the internal accounting team and ensure reporting integrity
- Advise on fundraising, M&A, debt strategy, and capital allocation
- Support and own credit packs and act as deal-time CFO when needed
- Support board-material preparation and investor communications
- Provide decision frameworks for growth, burn, and tradeoffs
- Templatize, automate, and scale recurring work
- Use AI and automation tools to improve delivery speed and quality
- Document SOPs and drive internal improvements to the client delivery engine
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong experience in finance leadership roles
- Previous experience in a multi-client role is required
- Deep understanding of consumer business models, including DTC, retail, omnichannel, and wholesale
- Strong FP&A and financial modeling skills
- Experience with budgeting, multi-year three-statement modeling, and operational forecasting
- Experience with accounting systems including QBO and NetSuite
- Ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights and communicate with confidence
- Experience working with executive teams and board-level stakeholders
- Comfortable managing multiple client relationships in a fast-paced environment
- Experience thriving in a lean, high-performance, distributed team
- Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini is a bonus
- Experience using automation tools such as Zapier, Notion, or Airtable is a bonus
- Must be located in the United States
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
