About the role
- Lead product design across multiple high-impact initiatives, from zero-to-one concepts through polished, production-ready experiences.
- Partner closely with Product and Engineering to shape product strategy, user flows, service architecture, data requirements, and technical constraints early in the process.
- Think deeply about edge cases, states, error flows, and data integrity, producing designs that anticipate real-world usage and give developers exactly what they need.
- Translate complex business and user needs into simple, cohesive experiences that drive measurable outcomes.
- Evolve and scale Figure’s design system, ensuring consistency and innovation across products.
- Raise the quality bar for visual craft, interaction patterns, systems thinking, and UX rigor.
- Mentor and provide design critique to senior and mid-level designers, fostering a culture of craft, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to influence product decisions and align teams around a shared vision.
- Represent design at the executive level, communicating design rationale and customer insights clearly to stakeholders.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in product design (UI/UX or product/interaction design), with a strong track record leading complex, multi-disciplinary work.
- Proven experience driving complex design projects from strategy through execution, ideally in a fast-paced or high-growth environment.
- Evidence of designing products that shipped, scaled, and impacted the business.
- Strong systems thinking around design components, technical constraints, and how to structure flows for engineering efficiency.
- Expert-level proficiency in modern design tools (Figma, Adobe Suite, etc.) and design systems thinking.
- A portfolio that shows high craft and strong product thinking, clear problem framing, consideration of technical tradeoffs, detailed states, data logic, and thoughtful execution.
- Strong understanding of usability, accessibility, and design best practices for responsive web and mobile experiences.
- Exceptional storytelling, communication, and facilitation skills—able to align diverse perspectives and influence at all levels.
- Experience mentoring other designers and helping teams scale design impact.
- A mindset that balances design intuition with data-driven decision making.
