About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop qualified client prospects through referral sources, existing clients and centers of influence
- Build, retain and grow long-term profitable business banking relationships
- Consult business owners on personal and business financial goals
- Provide loans, deposits, treasury management and other applicable banking services
- Cross-sell products and services to business customers and owners or senior management
- Collaborate with product partners to analyze client needs and develop tailored relationship strategies
- Participate in community and industry forums, conferences and meetings
- Plan and conduct relationship strategy and review meetings
- Coordinate client-facing activities, credit support and product partners
- Conduct pre-call planning, consultative sales and post-call follow-up
- Use CRM systems for activity tracking, call reports and pipeline management
- Partner with Portfolio Managers and Credit Officers on credit requests
- Monitor customer financial performance, condition, industry trends and credit exposure
- Meet asset quality, credit administration and RAROC standards
- Provide coaching, leadership and guidance to Relationship Managers I and II
- Complete administrative responsibilities in a timely manner
- Represent the Sales Manager as needed and manage risk according to bank policies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree required or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 5 years of sales experience
- Minimum of 5 years managing business banking or commercial relationships preferred
- Formalized credit training or equivalent credit risk experience required
- Underwriting experience preferred
- Proven ability to build new and existing client business and provide a positive client experience
- Strong business acumen, including detailed analysis, financial statement review and advanced accounting principles
- Extensive knowledge of credit and non-credit products
- Knowledge of commercial and Treasury Management services, alternative lending and financial options
- Ability to assess client needs, profitability drivers and corporate or personal life-cycle financial solutions
- Effective problem-solving and analytical skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including face-to-face negotiations and group presentations
- Ability to work in a team-based sales environment
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office software
- Ability to travel regionally and/or locally
