About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Cover private equity firms and alternative asset managers investing in the Consumer sector
  • Drive deep connectivity and relationships with key decision makers to generate M&A advisory, leveraged finance, and commercial banking engagements
  • Develop individual strategies for more than 30 sponsor clients with deal partners, capital markets professionals, and senior management
  • Originate and oversee execution of lead financing transactions for high-value portfolio companies
  • Collaborate with sector teams and product partners across capital markets and commercial banking
  • Lead positioning strategy with financial sponsor clients and position Fifth Third Bank as a trusted advisor
  • Prospect, pitch, and execute high-value M&A and lead financing transactions
  • Generate engagements and revenue across M&A advisory, leveraged finance, capital markets, fund finance, and treasury management
  • Oversee teams in origination and execution of new transactions
  • Engage with the broader Financial Sponsors Group to drive best practices and coordination
  • Conduct frequent business development interactions and client meetings
  • Prioritize and track calling efforts and outcomes while maintaining CRM systems
  • Travel for business and attend client meetings
  • Direct or indirectly supervise junior SRMs or bankers
  • Provide timely, candid, and constructive performance feedback
  • Develop employees and provide challenging career-growth opportunities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 15+ years working with private equity firms in investment banking, M&A, capital raising, or equivalent experience
  • Strong track record in client relationship development and originations
  • Ability to generate unique and actionable ideas with M&A advisory and sector teams
  • Ability to lead and manage multiple deal teams across product capabilities
  • Experience with sponsor leveraged finance transactions from origination to close
  • Demonstrated leadership, client presence, and communication skills
  • Ability to work closely with and develop analysts and associates
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s degree, MBA, or JD preferred
  • FINRA Series 79 and 63 licenses
